Para-athletics, in other words, called the track and field for para-athletes, which include the wheelchair racing that requires a consummate hands-on experience, technical skill, cultivated knowledge and the know-how preparations in all areas of the wheelchair racing dynamics, sitting positions, stroke techniques, competency to interpret technical rules of the sport and competition, and the mechanisms of communication to enhance one’s efficiency and performance which also involve the seated throws events.
PAS introduces various programmes for coaches both experienced and novices such as sports specific coaching and adaptation for seated throws, race running and wheelchair racing events. There are not many local coaches available for such events and speciality. This is due to lack of knowledge, education, and exposure. Thus, PAS also offers mentorship programmes, on-the-job learning and another mode of training applications.
The PAS welcomes any potential individuals interested to be PAS coaches and/or trainers whether as part-time or volunteer. As the initiative parallels PAS strategic development, potential individuals may be awarded technical training sponsorship or scholarship subject to PAS terms and conditions.
